New applications for textiles with multifunctional layers
Textiles today include high-tech materials used for special clothing and technical applications. Examples are filter membranes, geotextiles, and functional and protective clothing. The wide range of uses of these textiles, with in some case extreme requirements on strength, wear resistance, and fire protection, mean that the starting fabrics must be modified in order to guarantee the required functions.
